A ginger who hails from Texas, Lynnsey Ooten is a New York based director, actor, and filmmaker. She has an untamed passion for creating stories that unearth the dangers and delights of the human experience through whimsy, curiosity, and a ferocious sense of play.
Though she has a strong background in theatre, having graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and the National Theatre Institute, her passion for storytelling reached new heights when she directed and produced her first film project - the digital series SCRiBBLES. The series made a highly successful run of the domestic and international festival circuit, collecting awards and nominations for Best Acting, Best Writing, Best Director, Best Production Design, Best Original Music, and Best Digital Series along the way.
Recent directing projects include IN THE WORLD OF SOUNDS OR: THE RADIO PLAY ABOUT THE GUN THAT SHOT JOHN LENNON (audio drama), ESCAPE (NYC Fringe), and SHREW (Tale Told/Oppressed in Heels).
Recent acting credits include PROTEST (solo tour) RECOVER ONE (short film), THE DUDLEYS! (HERE Arts Center), and THE TROJAN WOMEN (Oppressed Heels Project).
